Germana Porcu Morano is a prominent Italian violinist on the international scene, known for her talent as a soloist, chamber musician and violin teacher. Winner of the 30th edition of the prestigious Michelangelo Abbado International Competition for Violinists in Milan, she also received a personal scholarship donated by Maetro° Claudio Abbado.

She began her musical studies at a very young age under the guidance of Maestro Felice Cusano, graduating with honors. In 2010 she received the Rotary Prize as the best graduate of the G. Donizetti Conservatory in Bergamo.
At the age of 14 she began her orchestral career as a violinist at the Donizetti Theater in Bergamo, participating in tours in Italy, Japan and Sweden. In 2009, she performed the opera “In l’istesso tempo” in the presence of the composer Giya Kancheli, who praised the interpretation.
Subsequently, she also performed under the direction of the famous Maestro Wolfram Christ, former first viola of the Berliner Philharmoniker, with whom she collaborated in prestigious international orchestral projects.

Throughout her career, she has won numerous international first awards.
She has played at festivals and concert halls in Europe, Asia and the United Kingdom, including: Royal Albert Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Tianjin Grand Theatre, Harbin Concert Hall, Chengdu Telunsu Hall and National Library Arts Centre in Beijing.

Collaborations and Special Projects
In 2019 she was chosen as the face for the Tiscali advertising campaign, directed by director Howard Greenhalgh, and participated in a video project for Fastweb, performing virtuosic pieces by Paganini and Massenet. In 2022 she received the Vietri Prize for Culture as an influential violinist of her generation and gave a recital for solo violin at the House of Lords of the British Parliament, in support of women’s mental and physical health.

Teaching activity
In parallel with her concert career, Germana is a violin teacher and promotes musical education at an academic and social level. After experiences at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan and at the “Duni” Conservatory in Matera, she is currently a tenured professor at the “N. Rota” Conservatory in Monopoli, thanks to the victory of the AFAM competition. She specializes in music pedagogy with three master’s degrees in Didactics, Arts Therapies and Theories of Music Teaching. She regularly holds international Masterclasses, is part of competition juries and promotes educational events in favor of young musicians and women.
Teaching activity
Instruments and Artistic Collaborations
She is currently concertmaster at the UniMi State Orchestra in Milan and guest concertmaster at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari. Her performances are frequently broadcast by RAI, Radio3, Classic Radio and streaming platforms. Sardinian guitarist Cristiano Porqueddu dedicated the Sonata I for solo violin “The houses under the pines” (2024) to her, in homage to the poet Mercede Mundula.
Artistic Collaboration and Instruments
She plays two exceptional instruments: a Gaetano Pollastri violin from 1954 and a Tononi violin from 1700, granted by private collectors. Recently she performed on a 1669 Stradivarius Clesbee at the Arvedi Auditorium in Cremona.
